Company For Christmas comes late this year

Hi Folks,

If you’re stupid enough to have been reading my crap for a year – although yeah, not much for a while, been busy – you may remember Company For Christmas.

Imagine taking a blogging platform and mercilessly beating it into the shape of a cafe!

Okay, so not quite a cafe, but a lovely place to come visit and chat if you find yourself alone this Christmas. Maybe you’re working away, or recently moved home – or perhaps life just happens to have left you isolated. Then why not come and say hi.

I invented C4C last year but, alas, life has been a bit hard work and I haven’t had time to do it this year – and then *boing* – Along came Rarasaur to save the day!

Rara is now acting Admin for C4C and we are making a late push to let people know that it is here.

C4C is not therapy or counselling. It’s a group of WordPress lovelies who are available to say hi. Last year people from Australia to France, New Zealand to Old Blighty stood by there PC’s ready to chat over the whole Christmas 24hours- worldwide. It was pretty wonderful to see.

If you want to be here ready to talk to people who are stranded, or if you find yourself alone for whatever reason and can’t get enough of the balls we talk here… come to C4C.

People who want to volunteer will be added as editors to C4C. Then they can make a page of their very own and chat there. People who want to chat can just visit on Christmas day and leave a comment on the home page. A kindly moderator will help you from there.

My snazzy C4C badge - ooh!
My snazzy C4C badge – ooh!

So please – visit Rara’s page, as she’s doing the hard work – or wear a badge (copy the image into a sidebar and link it to C4C – or write a post about this burst of splendour. The wealthy ravage us, the banks break us the politicians ignore us and the corporations overcharge us – but bollocks to all that, because we still give the love. We shall overcome!! with C4C

  1. I’m stupid and lonely and hanging on your every fur-faced word, Panda.

You shall have to take a few moments now and then away from hammering out your book and flogging your business enterprises to post. Draw a few cartoons, maybe.

In the past year I’ve managed to strand myself and my family in a country where few speak more than a few words of English. And my French seems wrist-slashingly head-bangingly inadequate for ordinary human communications. I’m a natural chatty talker type with no one around who understands what I’m saying.

But this is not new. Only now, there’s a good reason.
All the best. Thanks for the idea and links.

    1. Sorry to hear that Alice, I hope the French comes along in time. I swear, better wordless in France than thankless in England right now!
Have a Great time, even if you can’t tell anyone about it! πŸ™‚

      1. Yes. Better wordless in France for sure than in the U.S. as well.

Things are safer here. It’s easier to find safe food for my family. Not so many guns and drugs. As a mom, these are especially important.

We all study and practice French every day. I thought I was pretty good with French before I got here last summer. HA! Then I had to use my French to navigate the government, the bank and car sales dudes.

We’re better with French all the time. πŸ™‚

PS: what are your new business ventures?

  2. So glad to see this! And of course Rara is the perfect person to help get this going this year!

Last year’s C4C actually changed the way I felt about blogging and the relationships people form with each other over the internet. I learned you don’t have to see a person with your eyes or hear their voice to know and care about them.

You can tell me anything (yes, even that!)
