Sea Change – A Poem

The sea moves

And we flotsam flow with it

To shores unknown

Places unplanned

Transported without directing

We enslave the strange

Bleach the terrifying

Choke ourselves

Believing we had no choice

Blaming the currents

Only those at the limits of the sea

The lost or outcast

Have any chance to find land

Escape the tide

Be a difference

Within the waters

Occasional visionaries unfurl

Strange appendages.

Even as we mock them in their difference

They move their new arms to steer
