Hurt us – A Poem

Hurt us, but apologise

That may be enough

But if you hurt and then deny

It buries a little worm

Inside the mind

That can blight

A whole life

Punish them if you must

Lock them away from us

But remember that while

You may be satisfied

Our little worms

Cannot hear

Apologies out here

  1. Gosh. Resonates. Thank you. I have long held the belief that withholding apology inhibits healing. So cruel to deny, more damaging than the original offence. Sometimes it can’t be helped: for whatever reason apology cannot be spoken, or heard. I think you have just inspired another blog from me. Thank you.

You can tell me anything (yes, even that!)
