Stone Ship – A Poem

This stone ship
On its millennial ecliptic
Already too big
Not to slip
From the minds grip
Is just flea-spit
In the pacific

The whole fleet
Goes from our feet
To beyond speech
In a heartbeat
And will reach
Long after our meat
Is complete

How can you leave scars
Knowing how small you are
The children on this rock
Are all you’ve got
To shade your fear
From a billion light years
Of Alone

  1. “How can you leave scars…. ” touched me so deeply, especially with a series of tweets I am doing as I reflect and “grow up”from age 4 to the present on twitter this week. It touches me as a child and also as a mother…

You can tell me anything (yes, even that!)
