The third weal – A Poem

The Third Weal

Two so loved
tear each other
Both so stubborn
So stubborn
Tear each other

Always underneath
Layers of grief
Layers of need
See me
See me

Both have everything
Which the other is asking for
Trapped in Gordion knots
Vulnerability cuts
Anger cannot

Don't fight anymore
Look beneath it all

They turn
Upon the arbiter
Who saves them thus
With every cut

      1. Yes. I think too that the creative process is a sort of ‘living through’ the experience that enables a ‘journey’s end’ of sorts, an artificial sense of completion in our ever incomplete narrative.

      1. I know how this is. Occasionally only verse seems to do the job we wish to convey to others. Mixing the two is among the more difficult of prose projects.

You can tell me anything (yes, even that!)
