Son – A Poem

Part two of my three-part piece on parenting. Part one is here, and part three here.

My Son
I cannot believe incapable me
made beautiful you

My blown glass boy

If ever I fail to see
the best of my wife
the best of me

I can hear you laugh
or the depth in your eyes
when you wax strangely wise

Our distillate

Beautiful you
made capable me
